Dakota W. Underwood
Attorney
Dakota was born and raised in Columbia, Tennessee, where he attended Zion Christian Academy before pursuing his undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. At UT, he received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Cellular, and Molecular Biology. Next, Dakota turned his focus to law school, where he attended and received his Juris Doctorate from Lincoln Memorial University- Duncan School of Law, in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Upon passing the Bar Exam and being sworn in to the Tennessee Bar Association, Dakota moved back to his hometown of Columbia, Tennessee, where he began his legal practice at DuBois & DuBois, P.C. The boutique law firm focused its practice in real estate, estate planning, business transactions, and other miscellaneous litigatory matters. Shortly after, he was introduced to the world of title, at the firm’s sister company, DuBois Closing and Title Services, Inc.
The next chapter of practice took Dakota to Foundation Title & Escrow Series, LLC, during the peak of the real estate market. Over his time at Foundation Title, Dakota closed over 1,500 real estate transactions, both residential and commercial, while managing his own law firm, Underwood Law Group, PLLC, to further assist his clients with their transactional needs.
With Dakota, you will have an attorney who has an entrepreneurial mindset, has attention for detail, and thoroughly enjoys advocating for his clients and their needs. It is his goal to advise you in the most efficient manner possible, whether it is planning your estate, starting a business, or purchasing a home, he strives for excellence.
While not navigating the world of real estate, Dakota can either be found with his family and loved ones, on a pickleball court, or exploring coffee shops across middle Tennessee. He is a Vols fan to his roots, proud native of Maury County, coffee connoisseur, and family man.
